The Humanities Education and Research Association is an organization dedicated to the advancement of Humanities education in both the education and non-educational sense. If you would like to get involved and support the humanities, HERA is a good organization to get involved in. Their mission and statement is below.
"HERA - The Humanities Education and Research Association - is devoted to promoting the worldwide study, teaching and understanding of the humanities across a range of disciplines through regular conferences, scholarship, and its journal Interdisciplinary Humanities.
The mission of HERA is to:
• Promote the worldwide study, teaching and understanding of the humanities across a range of disciplines, including, but not limited to:
- Ancient and modern languages and literatures, written or oral
- History
- Philosophy and religion
- The visual arts and architecture
- The performing arts, including theater, dance, and music
- Performing media, including film, television, and the Internet
- Related fields such as archeology, anthropology, ethnic studies, women's studies, and history of science and engineering
- Those aspects of social sciences which have humanistic content and employ humanistic methods.
• Support the application of the humanities to the human environment with particular attention to reflecting our diverse heritage, traditions, and history and to the relevance of the humanities to the current conditions of national life.
• Support the interchange of research and the scholarships of knowledge, teaching and service in the humanities through conferences, publications, and related activities in a worldwide context.
• Provide additional forums for the exchange of ideas regarding humanities education in schools, colleges and universities, libraries and museums, and other contexts."

The Arts and Humanities Council of Montgomery County is another organization, although area-specific, that devotes its times and energies to the recognition of humanities in their community. Their mission statement is below.
"Our mission is to promote, support, and expand a vibrant arts and humanities presence woven into the fabric of our diverse and inclusive community."

The National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) is an independent federal agency created in the United States in 1965. The agency has granted large sums of money over the years to support the humanity-related pursuits. They can be contacted through their website.
